Curious Expedition 2 is a narrative roguelike adventure set in a reimagined version of the late 19th Century. Players take on the role of an intrepid explorer on a quest to discover the secrets of mysterious islands appearing out of nowhere. Using a combination of hand-crafted and procedural gameplay and story elements, the game creates completely unique and epic adventures every time you play.
One of our goals for the sequel was to make it more approachable than the first title, without reducing the complexity and depth. We also wanted to explore a different artstyle, inspired by classic Franco-Belgian comics of the 20th century: we think Curious Expedition 2 looks like no other game on the market and we’re really proud about that!

Curious Corner
- Some time after the first Curious Expedition was released, two fans reached out to present a board game version of the game they had developed. During the first meeting they gifted us with a copy of another board game, illustrated by a certain Garen Ewing. We loved the artwork so much we decided to work with him on Curious Expedition 2.
- One of the early ideas for the Explorer Clubs in the game was a group of gourmet chef adventurers. Who knows, they might return in some way one day!
- We added a lot of animals to the game. One of our favorites is the corgi: internally we named him Mr. Slippers. He's a good boy.
